The CP2102 and FTDI drivers currently seem to work quite well on Windows 7. Just make sure to download the drivers in the correct format... the.exe file for Windows XP/2000 type drivers is not going to work on Windows 7. The.inf file is the file needed, but it usually installs the drivers in the wrong location, causing the problem you are seeing. If you download an executable and it only works in XP SP1, you may need to change the registry on XP. I don't know if there is a registry key you have to go back to, but you can google this. Also, if you make a mistake and install the drivers in the wrong place (like Program Files), you can still change the registry key to point to a different directory. But it may be easier to just download from the second link.

You could try the latest Windows driver and see if it will work. If it works, I'd still report it to the manufacturer. I just went over the same hurdles... but I'm hoping an update will fix it for me. Might be a good luck charm if I get an update right after you post this thread here in the forum.

I called it the trial version because it is a limited version for evaluation that is supposed to come with a user manual and what not. It is not the real version. This "still in development" version has many limitations and it can only handle one pin on each port. Needless to say, it did not work at all. At all.
