For a while, Clara seemed to be forgotten by the Doctor as he looked for his friend. He arrived in 2013 and saw the Beatles' faces on New Years day and how people dressed up. Taking a bottle from his bag, he found a girl's photograph. The photograph showed Clara and his friend who had died hundreds of years earlier. Unexpectedly, he found Clara next to the train station where she had been waiting for him. It was only later, after she explained what had happened, that the Doctor told her the history of him finding his friend, although he admitted that he was not sure of the crack's true nature.
Clara stared at the photograph for a long time. Her memory of the Doctor returned to her and she was curious to know how he had found his friend clara. She focused on the picture and smiled as she could hear the Doctor's voice in her head when she had found his friend in 2005. She also learned that he had died in 1982. The Doctor asked Clara what she wanted to do now and she said she wanted to find out what had happened to her mother. After invading the time vortex, she became one of the Time Lords: Rose Tyler.
Since learning the truth about her mother, the Tenth Doctor and Rose had found many people who had been disappeared over historic events. Although he had a general idea of what had happened, he did not know if Rose was sent back to stop the Daleks or lost in space with no one to care for her. The Tenth Doctor had no time to be distracted and he told Clara that their memories of each other might have meant more than what they remembered to each other. He also mentioned one time, when Rose and Wilfred McCrimmon were disguised as the Tenth Doctor and Rose, that the Skakespearean villain Blackfriar was behind the disappearance of her mother and her friends.
The Tenth Doctor told her about Dorothy Gale and her friends who went back to Kansas, but forgot them in the "Tale of the Tin Man". The Doctor decided to go to Kansas to find the Daleks and asked her to come with him. d2c66b5586
